Topic/Skill: Needs Assessment

Feedback provided to the tutee: I asked my tutee basic "get-to-know" you questions, such as how long has he been living in the States, why he is studying English, and how long has he been studying/speaking it.  The Tutee is an intermediate level student. He wants to focus on pronunciation and writing skills. He wants to practice pronouncing consonants and vowels that are not in his native language, such as "s" (as in sip) "sh" (as in ship), "r" (as in war/world). The tutee also expressed difficulty understanding reduced forms and lower-pitch voices when listening to English. We worked a bit on his upcoming essay and focused on correcting his mistakes in:

-When to use comparatives vs. superlatives (more vs. most).

-Usage of interrogatives.

- Differentiating action verbs "to approach" and "to access."
