 Date/Time: May 6th

Topic/Skills: Listening skills (having a conversation about a topic and answering questions about a sound-only video)

Teacher Presentation: The teacher prepared questions about a specific topic (solar energy) as well as a listening material about the topic.

Classroom Management: The teacher allowed the students to lead the conversation but also jumped in whenever a specific person needed to speak more or whenever it was time to move on to a new question.

Materials: Google doc, sound link

Student Participation: Every student had to answer all, or at least most, of the questions and engage in questions and responses to other students.

Feedback Provided: The teacher did not provide much feedback, but instead was an active part of the conversation and was there as an outlet if students needed to ask any questions.

Lessons Learned: I learned that not taking too much control over students learning, especially in a more advanced setting, is very important for their development. In listening works especially it seems important to just allow them to have free will to listen and deduce on their own rather than taking too much authority to jump in and correct. I also learned that having questions prepared on a topic that is interesting to students is good for their engagement and interest in learning.
